Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 23, 2026

This policy explains what information Vezl (getvezl.com), operated by Alan Alejandro Ibarra Rodriguez, collects, how we use it, and your choices.

1. Information we collect

  • Account information: your email address and password (passwords are stored in hashed form by our authentication provider; we can't see them).
  • Card information you provide: your name, photo, job title, company, phone number, email, address, website, and an optional caption shown on your photo, plus the card link you choose (for example getvezl.com/c/your-name). Until you choose one, your card has a random placeholder link. If you add the optional second card (your Personal card), we store the same kinds of details for it, its own card link, and the QR code color you pick. It's public in the same way as your Business card, and it's deleted along with your account.
  • Payment information: handled entirely by Stripe. We give Stripe your email address to set up your subscription, and we store your Stripe customer ID and subscription status. We can see limited billing details in Stripe (such as your plan and billing dates) but never your full card number.
  • Technical information: our hosting and authentication providers automatically record basic technical data, such as IP address, browser type, and sign-in activity, which we use for security and troubleshooting. Our own code uses your IP address only briefly, in memory, to limit repeated requests (rate limiting); we don't store it in our database.
  • Visits to our website: we count visits to our website pages without cookies or personal data, and we never track visitors to customers' card pages.
  • Photos you upload: before a photo leaves your device, it's resized and converted to a standard JPEG in your browser, which also removes details embedded in the original file, such as location. It's then stored with our file-storage provider and shown on your card. Anyone who has the photo's direct web address can view it.
  • The card preview on our homepage: what you type into it (and any photo you pick) stays in your own browser and isn't sent to us. If you then create an account, the name, job title, and company from the preview are saved with your account so we can fill them into your card for you to review; they're cleared once you save or dismiss them. A photo from the preview is never uploaded unless you choose to use it on your card after subscribing.
  • Promo and access codes: if you sign up through a promo link, the promo code is saved with your account. When you use a promo code or an access code, we record the code, your email address, your account ID, and when it was used, so each code can only be used as intended (for example, once per email address).
  • Reviews: if you leave a review of Vezl, we keep your rating, comment, the display name and job title you give, and your account. If you allow it, we may show your review, display name and title on our website. You can ask us to remove it at any time at support@getvezl.com.
  • Referrals: if you sign up through a friend's referral link, we record who referred you, your email address, and whether your friend received their reward, so the reward is given once and correctly.
  • Business cards you scan: if you use the business-card scanner to fill in your card, the image is read entirely on your own device, in your browser. It is never uploaded to us or stored; only the text you review and choose to apply is saved to your card.
  • Messages you send us: if you email us at support@getvezl.com (the contact form on our homepage simply opens your own email app, addressed there), we receive your name, email address, and message.

2. How we use information

We use your information to provide and operate the Service; display your card to people you share it with; process payments and manage your subscription; send account emails (such as sign-up confirmations and password resets); keep the Service secure and prevent abuse; and comply with legal obligations. Payment receipts and billing emails are sent by Stripe. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

3. Public card information

Your card information is visible to anyone with your card's link or QR code, and they may save it to their own devices. When your card link is shared in a message or app, its preview may show your name, job title, company, and photo. Card pages ask search engines not to list them. See our Terms for more.

People who view your card don't need an account, and we don't collect any information from them. The optional name and “Where'd you meet?” note they can type stay on their own device — used only in the contact file and the text message they choose to send — and are never sent to us.

4. Service providers we use

We share information only with providers that help us run the Service:

  • Supabase: database, authentication, and file storage (including your uploaded photo)
  • Stripe: payment processing, receipts, and billing emails
  • Vercel: website hosting
  • Resend: delivering account emails, such as sign-up confirmations and password resets
  • Google Fonts: our website's fonts are loaded from Google, so your browser shares your IP address with Google when a page loads

These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments.

5. Cookies

We use only essential cookies, set by our authentication provider, to keep you signed in and your session secure. If you open a friend's referral link, we also remember that link (and your friend's first name, to say who invited you) in cookies for 7 days, so your friend gets credit if you sign up; a promo link's code is remembered the same way for 7 days. Once you subscribe, a cookie notes that, so we stop showing you these offers. We don't use analytics, tracking, or advertising cookies.

6. Data retention

We keep your account and card information while your account exists. If you cancel your subscription, your card stops being publicly available, but we keep your account data so you can resubscribe later. Your current photo stays in storage until your account is deleted; when you replace it, the previous one is deleted. You can ask us to permanently delete your account and data at any time by emailing support@getvezl.com. We may keep limited records where required by law, such as billing records. Records of promo and access code use (the code, email address, account ID, and date) are kept even after an account is cancelled or deleted, so a code can't be used again by signing up again.

7. Security

We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), database access controls that limit each account to its own data, and two-factor authentication on our administrative accounts. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8. Your choices and rights

You can view and update most of your information in your account at any time. You can also ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information by emailing support@getvezl.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, and we'll honor them as required.

9. Children

Vezl is not intended for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. If changes are material, we'll notify you by email or in the app before they take effect.
